What did you get up to this past weekend?
Me? Well I was forced to go camping.
It was ok.
see what hubby says...
Back on the blog! My fingers have been itching all day to get this one out. As my followers know I have been in a battle to get the wife to go camping with me. As reluctant as wife is about camping this time there was no escape, good weather, no social commitments and no sales at the shops meant I would finally get my night of "glamping". Yes the wife doesn't camp, she glamps. No detail could be missed. Snacks, beverages, entertainment, comforts all had to be thoroughly prepared. As wife says - its all about the details. OK!
This wasn't our first camping trip but our first just the two of us. I was determined to make this trip go off without a hitch. With only a few hesitant conversations ending with "well we can't go then" we were on the road and headed to the destination right on schedule (I always tell the wife to be ready 1/2hr before I intend to leave), 45 minutes later we were at our destination. Previous experience had taught me that setting up is a very crucial time in the camping trip. Wives become overheated, stressed and quickly over it. The first thing I did when we pulled up was get wife's chair out of the car and get her an icy cold drink I had prepared earlier then just sit her underneath the shadiest tree on site. The next hour I spent getting the camp ready while wife flittered back and forth from her seat helping when she saw fit and otherwise resting - genius!
The rest of the trip was all smooth sailing the wife even wet a line with me, had some drinks and played some cards. We were up the next morning to the smell of sparrow you know what, had some pancakes a tea and on the road again listening to Kanye cause that how we roll.
